Sebastian Kolowa University College (SEKUCo) of Tumaini University is looking for motivated, qualified and highly experienced individuals to fill the following vacant teaching and other positions in various Departments and Units:

FACULTY OF EDUCATION

A: Department of General Education.

Teaching positions and required qualifications:

1.  Master’s Degree holder (Grade B+ or above) in the field of Education from a recognised University and preferably a specialist in teaching Educational Assessment and Measurement, Educational Administration, Management, Policy and Planning, Statistics and Research.

2.  Master’s Degree holder (Grade B+ or above) in the field of Education from a recognised University and preferably a specialist in teaching Early Intervention in Education, Educational Guidance and Counselling, Inclusive Education, Health Education and Nutrition and Issues in Education.

B: Department of Special Education.

Teaching positions and required qualifications:

3.  Ph.D. holder in the field of Visual Impairment from a recognised University capable of teaching Braille, Orientation and mobility.

4. Ph.D. holder in the field of Hearing Impairment from a recognised University capable of instructing all levels of Sign language, Classroom Methods and Assessment, Clinical Methods and Assessment and Aural Rehabilitation.

5.  Ph.D. holder in the field of Speech and Language Disorders from a recognised University capable of instructing all levels of Speech Disorders, Language Disorders, Assessment of Speech and Language, Organic Disorders of Speech and Language and Clinical Methods.

C: Department of Linguistics, English Language and Kiswahili.

Teaching positions and required qualifications:

6.  Ph.D. holder in the field of English from a recognised University capable of teaching English Linguistics and English Literature.

7-8.  Two Master’s Degree holders (Grade B+ or above) from a recognised University capable of teaching English Linguistics and English Literature.

9.  Master’s Degree holder (Grade B+ or above) from a recognised University capable of teaching Kiswahili Linguistics and Kiswahili Literature.

D: Department of Arts and Social Sciences

Teaching positions and required qualifications:

10.  Master’s Degree holder (Grade B+ or above) in Geography from a recognised University capable of instructing Physical Geography, Human Geography, Geographic Techniques, Climatology and Vegetation, Quantitative Methods, Hydrometeorology and Geography Teaching Methods

11-12.  Two Master’s Degree holders (Grade B+ or above) in Economics from a recognised University capable of instructing Health Economics, Economic Policies, Planning and Programming, Finance, Labour Economics and Human Resources, Agricultural Economics and Economics teaching Methods.

13.  Master’s Degree holder (Grade B+ or above) in History from a recognised University capable of instructing Pre- History of Africa, History of Africa, History of Central Africa, History of Tanzania, History of Africa and the World Religion, History of West Africa and History Teaching Methods.

FACULTY OF LAW

Teaching positions and required qualifications:

14.  Ph.D. holder in Laws from a recognised University, capable of instructing Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and Jurisprudence.

15.  Master’s Degree holder (Grade B+ or above) in Laws from a recognised University and capable of instructing Land Law, Law of Banking and Law of Taxation.

FACULTY OF SCIENCE

Teaching positions and required qualifications

16.  Ph.D. holder in Environmental Science and Technology from a recognised University capable of teaching Statistics, Meteorology, Geomorphology and Environmental Science.

17.  Ph.D. holder specialising in Forestry from a recognised University capable of teaching Forestry Ecology, Protection of Forest Resources and Renewable Energy Resources.

18.  Master’s Degree holder (Grade B+ or above) in Soil Science from a recognised University capable of teaching Land Use Planning and Management and Agricultural Science.

Other positions and required qualifications

19.  Laboratory Technician having at least a Diploma in Laboratory Science from a recognized Institution, capable of being independently in charge of the Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories at the faculty, including the equipment and chemicals needed.

LIBRARY

Position and required qualifications

20.  A Librarian having a Master’s Degree in Library Science and Information Studies (with GPA of at least 3,7 in the Bachelor’s Degree and Grade B+ or above in the Master’s Degree), with at least 3 years of working experience preferably at a university library and capable of being in charge of the library.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Position and required qualifications

21.  An ICT – Manager with at least a Master’s Degree in ICT (Grade B+ or above) from a recognized University, with good knowledge of Database Management and networking-systems. The candidate should be capable of working independently in charge of the whole ICT – environment of SEKUCo and of teaching ICT.

FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS

Position and required qualifications

22.  An Accounts Assistant with a of Diploma in Accounting from a recognized Institution, or holder of Professional Level 1 or Module B, with working experiences of more than 4 years in a similar position in a reputable organization.

ADMINISTRATION

Position and required qualifications

23.  An Office Attendant with a form iv certificate with a PASS or above in English Language and a Certificate in Office Management. The candidate should have strong organizational skills and be service oriented and computer proficient.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

ALL POSTS

    i.  Good experience in her/his field of study will be an added advantage

    ii.  If successful must be ready to join SEKUCo by November, 2010

    iii.  Must have good computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

    iv.  Only short listed candidates will be contacted

POSTS WITH A DEGREE QUALIFICATION

    iv.  Must have a GPA of at least 3.7 in his/her first Degree
